Sometimes it takes meeting someone a second time to realize they’re meant to be in your life.
Our Story Begins
With Alec being born just over a year earlier and only two miles away, they grew up walking the same paths, attending the same middle school, but never crossing until Alec's senior year.
When We Met... Again
When We First Met
During October 2013 of our Junior and Senior year, Alec's friend, Mark, decided that he was going to ask Angelina's friend, Mattie, to homecoming. Their first official meeting took place helping Mark with his Homecoming-proposal over smash burgers and sweet potato fries.

Over the next few weeks, they carved some pumpkins, went to a rap concert, and occasionally hung out before parting ways for college. They didn't speak for the next five years.
Over winter break, 2018, Alec came back from Canada to visit his family, and decided to message Angelina. For the next few weeks, they texted constantly and often FaceTimed for 6+ hours a day.
The First Date
Even with Alec's finals around the corner, he decided to spend all the money he had to take a flight back to Arlington Heights for a weekend full of dates. The first day they went on a french-inspired picnic, danced in the city, and went on a double date with Angelina's friends, Meghan and Landon, over Korean BBQ and bowling.
Falling in Love
Over the course of their relationship, they've checked out tons of restaurants, traveled the world, explored the country, moved all over Illinois, and raised four dogs together.

The Engagement
After three years of dating, Alec proposed in Houston's Memorial Park with a picnic commemorating their first date, with the first Christmas gift he gave her: a picnic basket.

You could ask them what they said, but both excitedly blacked out and only remember the photographer saying it happened, capturing the moment for eternity.
